SHINee – Replay ~Kimi wa boku no everything~ (PV)

SHINee’s Japanese debut single Replay -君は僕の(Kimi wa boku no) everything- is a remake of one of their original Korean songs.  The original music video’s featured girl was Victoria from f(x).  With this new music video they replaced her with Yoona from SNSD (Shoujo Jidai/Girls’ Generation) probably due to her current Japanese promotions and group fame.  Any bit helps, although it would of been more gutsy to use Victoria again.  I’m still more of a Yoona fanboy even though she isn’t my favorite SNSD member.  Their fashion is a bit colorful and most guys wouldn’t be caught dead wearing that kind of stuff.  Anyhow it’s a look and image which constantly changes anyways and who really cares when they sing and dance.  I don’t think the song is expected to be a super hit, but it’s a good introductory song with a nice looking (Yoona!) music video and their Japanese singing is pretty good.

BEAST – Bad Girl (PV)

Beast (B2ST) is coming out with their second Japanese single called Bad Girl.  I like it that they’re coming out with decent sounding versions of their Korean songs rather than just immediately start making new Japanese songs. I think they made a great choice since the tune is catchy and the Japanese general public can generally dig it. They also keep their original Korean rap part, which is so short it hardly matters, and don’t butcher their songs by substituting English into their songs like 2pm.   2PM’s new song Take Off tends to sound extremely awkward since Japanese don’t really like hearing so many English phrases in their songs unless it adds to the melody or theme of the song.

DiVA (AKB48) – Tsuki no Uragawa (PV short ver.)

DiVA Tsuki no Uragawa (short version) music video. DiVA is a dance and vocal unit from AKB48. Nothing spectacular or anything, but I guess they want to be more sophisticated and cool like some Kpop girl groups. I’m a fan of Miyazawa Sae, the girl on the far right.

Kara – Jet Coaster Love (PV)

Kara Jet Coaster Love music video.  I think the tune is fine for the TBC  cosmetics commercial, but probably not that great for a music video.  Although if you like seeing them smile, acting cute, looking pretty, and pointing to their lips to kiss them then it is a great video.
